Filter Coolers Another idea gaining popularity is converted bottled water coolers, otherwise known as filter coolers.
By filtering and chilling tap water these systems can improve taste and reduce some contaminant levels. But, filter coolers do not actually purify the water.
In fact, these coolers share nasty bacteria and bio-film problems with their bottled water cousins.
